The Cowboy's Kink (The Billionaire Bachelors Series) Page 11
“That’s so sad,” the interviewer cooed. “Is it really over? Are you back on the market now? Answer carefully, we don’t want to start another Internet sensation.”
“Well now, that’s entirely up to her. As far as I’m concerned, my bachelor days are over. She’s it for me. The last and only woman I’ll ever love. But she’s the one with all the control. The one who holds my heart. My only hope is that she’ll see this and know how sorry I am for not telling her until now.”
She was crying damn it. She got off her seat and knocked on the partition, waiting for Roy to roll it down. “Is this real, Roy? Did he really do this?”
“He did,” Roy confirmed somberly. “And to hear Mr. Vincent, it’s a bigger deal than you or I would imagine. Mr. Reyes is a very private man.”
She knew. “Why? I’m not a grand gestures sort of girl, you know. I don’t need sky writers or billboards. He could have just told me himself.”
“Mr. Vincent mentioned something about you not answering your phone and your sister threatening him with a restraining order unless he gave you time?”
She pressed her forehead onto the seat and let out a shaky breath. He said he loved her. He told her she had all the control. He said it to the world on cable television.
She’s it for me.
Roy stopped the car and she looked over his shoulder and out the window.
Tracy’s house.
Home.
“He said you should go inside.”
Alicia put her hand on his shoulder and squeezed. “Thank you, Roy.”
“Just doing my job, ma’am.”
She opened the door to the limousine and hopped down, trying to focus on her breathing as she climbed the familiar steps and opened the door.
The entryway was full of roses. Large vases of them blocked her way to the living room and his office. On the floor, there was a trail of petals. She couldn’t help but smile as she followed them up the stairs toward the bedrooms. It made her think about what Sara had called him. A roses and candles romantic.
The door to the master bedroom was shut, and she frowned in confusion when she saw the trail leading to the room across the hall. Her room. She stepped inside and covered her mouth. “What are you doing in here?”
Tracy was handcuffed to the bed, wearing nothing but a towel around his waist. It looked like the same towel she’d been wearing when they met. His smile was subdued. “I didn’t want to presume. Not until we talked.”
He didn’t want to presume, so he was naked in a bed? But she knew. This was him, totally giving up control. Being vulnerable.
So much better than a billboard.
She set down her purse and crossed her arms, walking slowly toward him. He looked tired. Tense. “Roy showed me the recording.”
“Good.” He tried to sit up but the cuffs were obviously an obstacle. He grimaced. “There were things I couldn’t say on television. About my past.”
“Your high school sweetheart.”
He nodded. “I want you to know everything.”
“Now?”
“I need you to know why I…why I behaved the way I did. She was pushed into dating me by her parents. They were after the Reyes money and were willing to do whatever it took. She was a tiny little thing, and I fell in love. Or thought I did.”
Alicia moved closer, wanting to comfort him, needing to hold back. “How did you find out it wasn’t true?”
“My grandfather warned me about the family, and I thought he would stop the engagement unless we made it impossible. He was pretty old fashioned, so I convinced her to have sex with me.”
“Of course you did. You were a teenage boy.”
His jaw tensed. “She was willing, probably because her parents told her to be, but a virgin. I was young and uncontrolled and I didn’t know. Imagine an eighteen-year-old with my size. I didn’t do it on purpose, but I wasn’t as careful as I should have been and I hurt her. The next day her parents attempted to have me tried for assault. It wasn’t pretty, but in the end the truth came out and I discovered that they didn’t care about their daughter at all, just the money they got in the settlement. The last time I saw her she told me I was a monster.”
So many things started clicking into place. How careful he was with her. How worried that he was going to hurt her. His obsession with control. “My giant, scary, Shakespeare quoting cowboy. Why didn’t you tell me about the matchmaker? The files?”
“To be honest, I wasn’t thinking about it at all. Until Dean mentioned it, you were the only thing on my mind. The only woman I wanted to know.”
Good answer. “Tell me, why exactly are you wearing handcuffs?”
He narrowed his dark eyes on her. “I’m making a gesture.”
She bit her lip. “This wasn’t your idea was it?”
“Hell, no.” he growled.
She smiled. “And the roses don’t seem like your style either. Sara?”
His eyes started to sparkle with something. Hope? “And Henry. Fool apparently thinks he wrote the book on love now, though why I ever listen to that royal pain in the ass I’ll never kn—”
Alicia found the small key on the bedside table and held it in front of him, stopping him mid-sentence. “You hate being out of control. You’ve probably never been voluntarily handcuffed or tied down in your life. If you had your way you would have shown up at my place, thrown me over Old Man and tied me to the bed until I agreed to anything.”
“You think you know me, Alicia Bell?”
She nodded. “I know I do. But you did this for me. All of it.”
She watched him as he studied her face, lingering on her lips. “I think I’d do just about anything for you.”
Her heart full and feeling like it was going to beat out of her chest, she lifted her skirt, climbed up on the bed and straddled his lap. “I usually have more patience than this, but I’m not a woman who likes to waste time, Tracy Reyes. When I see something I want, I go after it. And I see something I want.”
She could see the recognition in his eyes as she repeated his words back to him. Then she kissed him, melting the instant his tongue started dueling with hers, her body coming back to life after months of neglect and heartache.
His kiss grew wilder, his growls making her crazy. She wanted him. Needed him. “I love you, Tracy.”
He leaned away from her lips and looked into her eyes. “Say it again.”
“I love you. I lost my heart that first night. Somewhere between you calling my car a heap of junk and that massage.”
“Take off the handcuffs.”
Her thighs actually started to tremble. “Are you sure? This could be fun.”
“Alicia Bell.”
She looked down at him, her body reacting to the command in his voice and she knew nothing would ever be the same again.
“Yes, Tracy.”

The Bachelors
We know every debutante's mama wants a piece of their action, but if you could choose without repercussions, which of the Billionaire Bachelors would be your fantasy? The true hardcore cowboy who has enough land and employees to start his own country, but no dancing partner for his special kind of two-step? The musician with a royal pedigree, a wild streak and a vast fortune at his disposal, who's never been seen with the same woman twice? His best jet-setting buddy who can claim no less than five estates, four degrees and three charges of lewd public behavior on his record? Or the sweet-talking, picture-perfect tycoon-cum-philanthropist who used to be the baddest of the bunch but put those days behind him when he took over as CEO of his family's company? (Or did he?)
Pick your fantasy lover--rocker, rancher, rebel or reformed rogue. Glass slipper shopping is a dangerous sport to be sure, especially with prey as slippery as these particular animals, but I'll still wish all my readers happy hunting.
